Janet Wilhelmina Klug Zierath, 85, passed away peacefully while traveling, a fitting reflection of her lifelong spirit of adventure. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Janet valued education deeply and was a proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. She later found joy in continuing education programs and was a lifelong learner.
A passionate traveler, Janet explored the world by land, sea, and air—always with curiosity and enthusiasm. She was active and creative, enjoying hiking, golf, quilting, painting, and games with friends. Janet’s energy and warmth touched everyone she met, whether through her professional work in health and fitness, her volunteerism, or simply her kindness.
She faced life’s challenges with courage and compassion, providing devoted care to loved ones and embracing new chapters with optimism. Her later years were spent in Florida with her husband Ron, enjoying simple pleasures and meaningful connections.
Janet is survived by her husband, children, grandson, siblings, and many beloved friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, Donald.
A private memorial will be held on September 6, 2025 at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the American Diabetes Association.
A visitation for Janet will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM in the Chapel of the Flowers in the Great Memorial Building @ WI Memorial Park, 13235 W Capitol Dr, Brookfield, Wisconsin 53005, followed by a celebration of life from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
