Lorna is survived by her loving husband, Helmut J. Sperl, and her two sons, Thomas J. Sperl (wife Cheryl Singer) and Mark J. Sperl (wife Melinda Taylor). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Stephen Sperl (wife Kelsey Sullivan), and their three children, Isla, Skylar, and Sullivan, and Nicole Sperl (Ryan Ronk), and extended family.
Lorna was a devout member of the Lutheran Christian Church, dedicating countless volunteer hours to both church and private organizations to provide relief for those in need. She had a passion for quilting, creating numerous beautiful quilts, both large and small. It brought her great joy to exhibit her quilts at various shows, and she lovingly gifted many to family and friends.
Encouraged by her family, Lorna embraced a variety of outdoor activities. Although she was not initially a fan of water sports, she participated in canoeing outings, marveling at the beauty of Wisconsin's lakes and streams. She also enjoyed skiing in the Rocky and Sierra mountains, experiencing many adrenaline rushes, and hiking along the California coast. Some of her most memorable hikes were with her husband's relatives in the Bavarian Alps.
Lorna's extensive travels to both domestic and foreign countries broadened her perspective on different lifestyles, local customs, and the magnificent beauty of our world. She led a busy life raising her two sons while working part-time as a secretary. Before retiring, she worked full-time as an Executive Administrator to the Human Resource Director at GE Government Systems in California.
Lorna's legacy of love, dedication, and passion will be remembered by all who knew her.
