Loving husband of Kreszenz for 65 years. Dearly loved father of Johanna Ball of Eagle, Wisconsin. Proud grandfather of Jason (Jennifer) Marek and Megan Marek, and great grandfather of Caleb and Abigail Marek. Also survived by his step-grandchildren Kelly (Todd) Linskey and their children, Amanda, Julia, Allison, and Matthew; Kevin Ball; Brian (Tarra) Ball and their children, Chase DeBraal, Ella, and Alaina. Also loved by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends both here in the United States and in Germany.
Preceded in death by his parents, Josef and Emilie Penn, his brothers, Josef, Alfred, Georg, Johann, his sister, Maria, and his son-in-law Terry Ball.
Born in Germany in 1938, Siegfried grew up in Buchhofen, a small farming community where he attended school and later worked as a farm hand for a local farmer. It was there that he met Kreszenz, married, and started a family. In 1961, he moved his family to the United States and settled in the Milwaukee area, where he found work and became a part of a vibrant community. Siegfried worked for Milwaukee Marble, Kindt, Split Rock, and helped his landlord build homes part-time, before joining The Falk Corporation in 1970 as a carpenter in the shipping department, where he worked until his retirement in 2000.
He was an avid soccer fan and played in his youth and here in the USA for both the Brewers and the Bavarian Soccer Clubs. But Siegfried’s greatest love was his family and everything he did was to ensure they had a wonderful life. He was always the first person to lend a hand with countless projects no matter how small or big, from simple yardwork to finishing basements and small remodeling projects. He had a quirky sense of humor and loved to tease; he always said it’s important to make people laugh and he lived that philosophy!
Siegfried was one-of-a-kind and will never be forgotten. There is a piece of him in everything that surrounds us because he touched us with his love, his helping hand, and his joyful spirit.
“Vatta, dad, grandpa, great grandpa…you will always be loved and remembered.”
