

Black-Arnold, age 96, of Natick, MA, formerly of West Palm Beach, FL, and Short Hills, NJ, passed away on Nov. 28, 2014. Devoted husband of 68 years to Lenore G. Black. Beloved father of Robert M. Black MD and his wife Lisa D. Black, and Douglas P. Black. Proud grandfather of Amy B. Ross, Rebecca B. Levine, Allison B. Rossing, and David A. Black. Great grandfather (Big Grandpa) to Jack, Jonathan, Nathaniel, Hannah, Samantha, Eliot, and Harley. He graduated from New York University and enlisted in the US army during WWII. He was wounded in France and received the purple heart. He returned home, married Lenore and joined his father (Joseph) and brother (Harry) to become a partner in J. Black and Sons Central Auto Body and Collision Repair, Inc. in Newark, NJ. He was a long time member of Crestmont Country Club in West Orange, NJ, where he was club champion. He also loved playing cards and watching professional sports. In 1975, he and Lenore moved to West Palm Beach, FL, where he worked in financial services until he retired. At the request of the family services will be private. Family and friends are invited to a memorial observance at the home of Robert and Lisa Black from 1-5 pm Sunday, November 30.
