

Barbara Harris, age 83, of Wayland MA, died on May 22, 2025 of renal failure. She was the recipient of kidney and pancreas transplants, which she assiduously guarded for 27 years. She was born in Brooklyn NY in 1942, daughter of Murray and Rose Rosof.
She graduated from Vassar College and Teachers College, Columbia University. She was a gifted, vibrant educator, who taught in public and private high schools. But her true love was tutoring hundreds of students in verbal skills and language arts in preparation for their attending college. She was an avid reader, dendrophile, and gardener, especially of rhododendrons.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, George; son Mark (Rifka) and daughter Laura Clubok (Ken); six granddaughters: Risa Lebowitz (Yisroel), Leah Solomon (Yosef), Abby, Noa, Rose and Sarah; and her sister Joan Schultz (Gerald).
Funeral services will be held graveside at 1:00 PM on Sunday May 25 at New Montefiore Cemetery, West Babylon, NY. The family will observe Shiva throughout the week in New York, NY, and Columbus, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of Barbara may be made to the charity of your choice.
