Barbara Weisman

Barbara (Freedlender) Weisman, most commonly known as Safta, a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt, whose warmth, kindness, and selfless love touched everyone around her, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, at the age of 100.

Born on April 5, 1926, in Haverhill, Massachusetts, Barbara lived a remarkable century defined by her deep devotion to family and friends. She was incredibly loving, kind, and generous, always putting others first with a selfless spirit that created a legacy of compassion. Her home and heart were open to all, and she found her greatest joy in celebrating life with those she held dear. Just ten days ago, on her 100th birthday, she was surrounded by family and friends in a joyful celebration that perfectly reflected the love she gave so freely.

Her loving, kind, and generous spirit—along with her deep love of family and friends—has already been passed down through the generations she nurtured so tenderly, and it will continue to live on as a lasting legacy.

She is survived by her children, Lewis Weisman and wife Joyce of Stoughton, MA and Jeffrey Weisman and wife Wendy of Sharon, MA, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Weisman, her daughter, Lisa Mishkin (Weisman), and her brother Donald Feedlender.

Barbara’s memory will be a lasting blessing to all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 475 Washington Street, Canton, MA. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA 02067. Shiva will be held at Barbara’s home following interment until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, and on Wednesday from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
