Barry David Rosen passed away with his children by his side on Friday, March 13, 2026 at the age of 76. He was the son of the late Charlotte (Berg) and Bernard Rosen, brother to Judith Kinsley and her late husband Jonathan Kinsley, father to Elizabeth and Matthew Rosen and their respective spouses Theodore Mooncai and Samantha Rosen, grandfather to Maeve, Felix, Esme and Emory.
Barry was born on March 30, 1949 in Boston, MA. He was a graduate of Sharon High School (class of 1967) and UMass Boston (1971). Following graduation, he had a long, successful career as an insurance broker until his retirement in 2017.
Barry will be most remembered as a caring individual who loved to lend a helping hand and hated to see any of his loved ones in a bind. He was always there for those around him and would set himself aside to take care of others. Over the years, he accumulated and held on to many good friends, always staying in touch regardless of time and distance. In the last year of his life, he spent several weeks visiting with or being visited by friends he has had for over 50 years, a testament to the type of person he was.
To his family, he will be remembered as an incredible, sweet and steadfast father, grandfather, brother, uncle and partner. He took great pride in his children and did not pass on opportunities to speak fondly of them to others. He always made time for his family and ensured everyone was cared for. He had a beautiful relationship of mutual love and support with his sister, each a pillar in the other’s life. He loved his grandchildren dearly and his presence in their lives will be deeply missed.
In addition to a love of his family and friends, Barry had a passion for cars, a topped-off bird feeder, and an adventurous meal. He was a man who could nap anywhere but preferred his screen porch on a crisp, Fall day. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hiking and skiing. His children have fond memories of days spent together wandering around car shows and skiing at Okemo Mountain and nights spent at AMC huts in the White Mountains. His humor will be missed–a lover of a good, sometimes embarrassing, joke–especially if the recipient was caught off guard.
Barry will be lovingly remembered and profoundly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton followed by burial at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon. A reception will be held after services at 4:00pm at Blue Hill Country Club, Pecunit Street, Canton.
