David Pearlman of Wayland, MA passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2025, at the far too young age of 59. Born in Boston, David spent his early years in Salem, MA before settling in the Metro West area to establish his own company, Pearlman Associates. David was known for his larger-than-life personality, hysterical sense of humor, boundless generosity, and deep commitment to ensuring that no one, especially a child, was ever left behind. David was instrumental in bringing people together and making enduring memories—adults and children alike considered him a best friend and a confidant. He was the glue that held the community around him together; a true champion for all.
David was an active and dedicated member of the Wayland community. In fact, to mention Wayland is to immediately picture David. He founded the Wayland Men’s Softball League (which brought hundreds together in friendship and fun), served on town boards as an elected official (including the Wayland Recreation Commission), and passionately worked to improve the town for young to old.
Above all else, David was most proud of the shining lights of his life, sons Jake and Alex. David never missed a ball game and could always be found cheering vigorously from the front row. He loved to take his boys (often with a gaggle of their friends in tow), on adventures both near and far. Together, David and wife Jennifer built a life as cornerstones of their community.
David is preceded in death by his parents Frances and Melvin Pearlman. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Jennifer (Orzo) Pearlman; sons Jake and Alex Pearlman; brother Eric Pearlman; parents in-law, Jo-Ann and Yuval Ashkenazi; sister-in-law Ellen Lawrence and her husband Chris; as well as nieces Naomi Pearlman, Katie Lawrence and Mandy Lawrence, and nephew Matthew Pearlman; beloved dog Gus; and countless friends who he held close as family.
David’s funeral will be on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at Temple Shir Tikva, 141 Boston Post Road, Wayland followed by interment at Beit Olam East Cemetery in Wayland. Following interment, those who wish to visit with the family are welcomed back to Temple Shir Tikva for a Shiva until 3:30 p.m.
