A graduate of Girls Latin High School, Simmons College, and University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
Beloved mother of Marcia Kadanoff of San Francisco, CA, Felice Kadanoff of Miami, FL, and Betsy Kadanoff of Winthrop, MA and grandmother of Sasha Mironov of Cambridge, MA. Mother-in-law to Rich (and Marcia) Mironov and Jon (and Betsy) Grossman. Sister to Myrna Gordon Goldberg and Aunt to Arielle Goldberg, both of Brooklyn, NY. Niece to Rae and Jordan Silin of Newton, MA and Cookie Stark of New York, NY.
An advocate for free speech who abhorred censorship in any form, Diane served as Director of the Norwell, MA Public Library for over 20 years. Active in the leadership of the American Library Association, an active feminist, poker player, and member of OLE, Diane leaves behind a legacy of laughter, good books, food, and love.
Services will be held at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 1668 Beacon Street, BROOKLINE on March 7, 2011 at 12:00 Noon. Interment follows at Beth Israel Cemetery, Everett, MA. Memorial observance will be at the home of Ray & Jordan Silin following interment and then on Tuesday & Wednesday afternoon at Diane’s late residence.
