
Edith (Wax) Bloom, age 93, of Walpole, formerly of Foxboro and Westwood, on Thursday, August 25, 2016. For 56 years, the beloved wife of the late Frederick Bloom. Loving mother of David W. Bloom of New York, NY, Jeff A. Bloom & his partner Denys Giguere of Toronto, Canada, and Linda B. Ambrose & her partner Dan Rolander of Annapolis, MD. Cherished grandmother of Joshua Dillon Bloom. Sister of the late Charles Wax and Ethyl Faigin. Loving aunt of Deanne Kossiver, Barry Wax, David Wax & Herbert Wax and the late Larry Faigin.
A graduate of Florida State College for Women (FSU), with a B.S.in Nutrition, Edith moved to Boston to begin her career as a dietitian at Beth Israel Hospital and also acted as a language aide at B.I., in the "English is a 2nd language program". Edith was an airplane spotter in WWII in Harrison, ME., where her family ran a hotel in the summer. Edith with her beloved Fred was active in the Fair Housing community, volunteered serving meals at The Pine Street Inn and spent countless hours volunteering at her Temple. Edith shared her love with family and friends through food and entertaining, was a prolific baker and co-authored a cookbook.
Services at Temple Beth David, 7 Clapboardtree St., Westwood on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 1:00pm. Burial at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon. Memorial observance will be Sunday evening, August 28, 2016 from 7-9:00pm at New Pond Village, 170 Main Street, Walpole, MA - 2nd floor.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Two Ten Footwear Foundation, 1466 Main St., Waltham, MA 02451, Temple Beth David – Art, Decorating & Landscaping Fund or the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Anne Arundel County, 1815 Bay Ridge Ave., Annapolis MD 21403.
