Edith G. (Goldstein) Friedman

Edith G. (Goldstein) Friedman, of Chestnut Hill on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Robert J. Friedman. Loving mother of Dick and Meryl & Judi and Jim. Adored grandmother of Lauren & David, Leah & Evan and Jill and great-grandmother of Colby Rose.

Edith and Bob enjoyed traveling to Longboat Key Florida every winter for many years and formed lasting friendships with other “snowbirds”. Every Saturday, well into their 90’s, Edith and a close group of girlfriends met for lunch at their favorite restaurants. Edith was an avid reader of novels, newspapers and People Magazine, always up to date with current events and impressing her grandchildren with the latest celebrity gossip. She enjoyed her volunteer work at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and received an award for her dedication. Her favorite times were holidays spent with her family, and breakfast and lunch dates with her grandchildren at her favorite local spots. She was overjoyed at the arrival of great-granddaughter Colby Rose, perhaps the brightest jewel in her crown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edith’s name to Newton-Wellesley Hospital or Newton Free Library.
