A lifelong resident of Quincy and Falmouth, Massachusetts and Boynton Beach, Florida, Frederick was the beloved and devoted husband of the late Marcia S. Cohen for 69 wonderful years. Devoted and loving father of Ellen Cohen, Debra and Van Billet, Sandra and Mark Mazur, and Linda Cohen. Loving and proud grandfather of Michael Billet, Laura and Jeffrey Beauchamp, and Ethan Mazur. Cherished great-grandfather of Maxwell Joseph and Ella Beauchamp. Fred was the son of the late Ethel (Krasnoo) and Joseph Cohen. Brother of the late Herman (Cohen) Cole, the late Ida Rose (Cohen) Friedland, brother-in-law to Gilbert Friedland, and uncle to many devoted nieces and nephews.
Born in Boston on August 20, 1927, Fred graduated from Northeastern University’s School of Pharmacy, and proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II. He was the owner of the Braddock Drugstore in Boston’s South End. Fred was a dedicated neighborhood pharmacist for over 45 years, serving customers, often generously filling prescriptions for folks even if they could not afford to pay.
Fred was an avid golfer and loved watching his hometown teams - the Boston Bruins, Celtics, Patriots, and Red Sox. He was a lifelong member of Temple Beth El in Quincy, MA before moving to Florida. He loved traveling the world, especially Israel, with his beloved wife, Marcia. Most importantly, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, dedicating his entire life to his family and friends, and always helping others. His kindness and generosity of spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Following the burial, shiva will be held at Congregation Kehillath Israel, 384 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA, on April 4, 2-5pm.
