

Georgia Rubin Mittelman, 97, beloved wife, devoted mother and cherished grandmother died peacefully with her family by her side on October 19, 2023. She’s predeceased by her husband Gene.
Georgia was born in New York, NY. She grew up and later raised her family in Willimantic, CT. She also lived in Bondville, VT and Palm Beach, FL. As a dedicated Barnard College alumna, Georgia loved attending her college reunions and spending time exploring New York. With her husband Gene, she traveled the world and took great pleasure in experiencing different cultures.
She was a loving mother to Joan (Michael) Kraft and Ellen (Tom) Potter of Rye Brook NY. Her grandchildren – Lily and Zachary Kraft and Rachel and Adam Potter – were her pride and joy.
Georgia lived a rich, full and rewarding life and was an active volunteer in Sisterhood at Temple B’Nai Israel in Willimantic and as a chairwoman of the Connecticut Women’s League. She was also a docent at the William Benton Museum of Art. Above all, Georgia’s greatest joy and pleasure came from spending time with her family.
Services at the Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard St., Brookline on Sunday, October 22 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at 2:00pm at the B’Nai Israel Cemetery, 227 Stafford Rd., Mansfield, CT.
Memorial observance on Monday, Oct. 23 in the Interfaith Chapel in the Community Center at NewBridge on the Charles, 5000 Great Meadow Rd., Dedham from 3-4:30pm.
