Silverstein, Gerald L. “Jerry,” a resident of Needham for 46 years, on Sunday, March 15, 2015. For 58 years, he was the beloved husband of Gertrude (Wein). Loving father of David & Jill Silverstein of Boston, Mark & Heidi Silverstein of Stamford, CT and Eric Silverstein & Heather Mellem of Needham. Adored grandfather of Abigail, Kelsey, Jackson, Nikki, Danielle and Court. Dear brother of Carol Baker and Arlene Wolk, both of Chestnut Hill. Much loved uncle of many nieces and nephews. Jerry is lovingly remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. A graduate of Colby College, a Needham Town Meeting Member, avid skier, water skier, sailor, cross-country bicyclist, hiker and also involved in volunteer work and adult learning in retirement. Services at Temple Beth Shalom, 670 Highland Ave., Needham on Wednesday, March 18 at 1:00pm. Burial in Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham St., Sharon. Memorial observance at Jerry’s late residence Wednesday following the burial until 8:00pm, Thursday 2-4:00pm & 7-9:00pm, Friday 2-4:00pm.
