When the family arrived at New York Harbor in 1938, their name Lajkind was changed to Lake, and they settled in Providence, R.I. He earned his Master’s degree at Adelphi University in NY. Harold excelled in his field, working most of his career employed at the Foxboro Co., and held several awards and 16 patents for his work. Harold was very handy, could fix just about anything, and thus was called “Mr. Fix It” by his family. He built beautiful dollhouses for his six granddaughters and Sally, which will always be cherished. From an early age, Harold loved to sing. He performed with the Showtime Singers in the Boston area, and with the choir at his synagogue, Temple Emanuel of Newton. He also served as VP of Temple Israel in Sharon.
