Jacob Alpert, a kind, gentle and easy-going man who loved his wife, 2 children, 2 grandchildren and extended family, passed peacefully at the age of 95 on 3/6/24.
He was born in Boston on October 18th 1928 to Zelda and David Alpert and grew up in Mattapan. He spent time in the military travelling throughout Europe, making educational films for the Army and had very fond memories of that time in his life. Upon his return, he went to Northeastern University where he extended his time to complete a master’s in business administration (MBA).
After college Jacob was set up on a blind date where he met his wife Sandra of 59 years and they settled in Needham, where they raised two children, Deborah and Bennett. They loved the area and were active in the community, where they helped to create the first Jewish synagogue where Jack proudly served a term as president.
Jacob, also loved his two grandchildren Haley and Austin and took great pride in their accomplishments. He is survived by his daughter Deborah and her husband Kevin Sylvia, son Bennett and his extended family which includes his wife Jill and her 3 children.
Jacob was a sweet and happy man who never complained, even as his age started to limit his activities. In fact, at the age of 92 he suddenly became a great artist, and his children proudly display his work on their walls. He never gave up learning and loved to read his daily Wall Street Journal and Boston Globe cover to cover.
Jacob was simply a wonderful, warm and dependable man who was there for anyone who needed his wisdom, support or just a smile and laugh. All who knew him will be left with fond memories of time spent with him and he will be truly missed.
Funeral services will be held for Jacob at the Sharon Memorial Cemetery Chapel on Sunday March 10, 2024 at 1PM.
