She leaves behind her sons, Drew and wife Robin, Jackson and his husband Jeremy and Benjamin and his children, Keren, Joseph and Emma. She is also survived by her “double” Cousin Stanton Lyman. Her grandkids who called her Mimi, were the light of her life for the past 10 years. Jane was predeceased by her husband Gerald J. Holtz and her daughter, Keren, who was killed by a drunk driver.
Jane grew up in Brookline, MA. She attended college at Barnard in NYC and returned to Brookline to attend a business program at Radcliffe where she met, Jerry, her husband of 50 years. She went on earn an MBA from Boston College and then a doctorate in business administration from Harvard University.
Jane wanted to “do good” with her education and began working at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1976 as a business manager for the department of Psychiatry. Her colleagues became lifelong friends. Over the years she garnered more responsibility and eventually became a vice president at MGH, serving as an administrative lead for many departments.
Jane retired to West Falmouth with her husband in 2001. She became the treasurer of the West Falmouth Library and then more recently the treasurer of the Falmouth Art Center. She also served as the president of the board at the New England Organ Bank. She was deeply committed to her work with these charitable organizations, and many more through her philanthropy.
Jane loved to scuba dive and spent many vacations in exotic locations diving many times a day. Later in life, she wanted to snorkel with her grandchildren which she accomplished just months ago at the caves on Norman Island, BVI. She made shaped birthday cakes, the fish being her favorite, for her kids, grandkids, godchildren and many others.
Her last moments were spent having cocktails on a Zoom call with three of her best friends.
