Janet Markman (Szyjewicz), of Needham, formerly of Brookline, on Thursday, April 6, 2017. Beloved wife of the late George Markman. Loving mother of Steve Markman & his wife Paula, and Betty Bernstein & her husband Gary. Adored grandmother of Glenn and Beth Markman and Julie and David Bernstein. Dear sister of the late Fella & Michael Elfant and Jacob, Genig and Shraga Szyjewicz. Janet was a Holocaust Survivor.
Services at the Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline on Sunday, April 9 at 11:00am. Burial in the Adath Jeshurun Cemetery, 350 Grove Street, West Roxbury. Following burial, memorial observance will be at the kosher home of Steve & Paula Markman until 5:00pm and continuing 7-9:00pm and on Monday from 10am-12:00Noon. In lieu flowers, remembrances may be made to charity of your choice.
