Jay Kamen

Jay is survived by his children, Stacey Kamen of Portsmouth, NH; Elyse Marrone and her husband Dean of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and Hilary Kamen of East Hartford CT; his grandchildren Alex and Joshua Marrone, siblings Gary Kamen and his wife Roberta of Hadley, MA; Marjorie Bernard and her husband David of Sharon, MA; and his beloved cat Jack. He is preceded in death by his parents Hyman and Beatrice Kamen of Newton MA, his brother David Kamen and by his cherished companion of 17 and a half years, Wink the dog.

Jay was born on April 29th 1943 in Worcester MA. He graduated from the School of Business at Boston University in 1965 and pursued his CPA thereafter. Honored for the highest ratings in the official state Board of Public Accountancy examinations, he worked for Coopers and Lybrand and became the youngest partner ever made at the age of 29. Having accomplished what he set out to in the accounting world he left to open his own business and was extremely successful in the years that followed in manufacturing and international brokering.

His children remember him as a funny, brilliant, fun loving, passionate, strong and entertaining father who encouraged and supported them to pursue their goals.

Jay was a generous, witty and dedicated individual who loved his career, sailing, skiing, traveling, learning languages, and was passionate about panda bears, Corgis and extra lean corned beef.

He was an active and dedicated member of the Chabad of Nashville, Tennessee and generously supported its congregation with the endowment of the "Kamen Conference Center" and annual contributions to sponsor the high holiday services.

Services will be held Sunday January 17, 2016 at 3pm at the Chapel at Beth El Cemetery, 776 Baker St., West Roxbury, MA. Shiva will be immediately following at the family home, and will continue on Monday at the home of his daughter Stacey Kamen.
