Joseph (George) Hoffman, born in New York City in January, 1919, died on Friday, February 17, 2017. George was the beloved husband of the late Lillie Hoffman (Simon), devoted father of Carol Hoffman and cherished grandfather of Emma Craig and Benjamin Craig. He grew up during the Great Depression and served his country honorably in WWII. He was a kind, gentle, soft-spoken man who was dedicated to his family. He was exceedingly loyal and honest, with a strong ethical sense. An engineer by training, he also loved writing poetry, listening to music and working with his hands. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd at 11:30 am at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 1668 Beacon Street, Brookline. Interment will be private. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Carol Hoffman following the service.
