Joseph A. Mack of New Boston, NH, entered into rest on December 13, 2025, at the age of 78. He was the beloved husband of the late Janet Mack and father of Adam M. Mack (Stacy) and Jennifer S. Baker from a previous marriage to Betty J. Mack. He was a devoted uncle to Emalie B.S. Novick and stepfather to Walter Scarborough, Richie Byrnes, Marie Robinson, and Billy Sanderson. He was cherished as Papa Joe to granddaughter Chloe S. Baker and great nephew Oliver A.L. Novick. He is preceded in death by brother David M. Mack, sister Aschi Novick, mother Augusta Novick Mack, and best friends Charles “Chuck” Beach and Irwin Alfred.
Joey grew up in Hull, Massachusetts. After obtaining his undergrad degree from the University of Massachusetts in Boston, he went on to graduate from Tufts Medical School. He practiced as an emergency room physician and later had his own internal medicine practice. He then returned to school and practiced as a radiologist into his 70s. His 50-year career in medicine spanned RI, WV, MA, LA, VA and ME. He was a cherished friend to so many along the way.
He was a dedicated sports fan and was passionate about the Boston Celtics, Red Sox, Bruins and New England Patriots. He loved family, sports, boating, seafood, road trips, and ice cream. He cherished time spent with family, friends, colleagues, and patients.
A funeral service for Joseph will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 1668 Beacon St., Brookline, MA 02445.
The burial will be at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA,
Shiva will be held in the card room at 1 Seal Harbor Road, Winthrop, MA, on December 19, 2025 following the burial.
