Karen Linda Brody

Karen L. Brody (nee Small) of Ashland, Massachusetts formerly of Newton Massachusetts and South Bend, Indiana died on June 29, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Janet (Sgan) and Sidney T. Small of Newton.

She was a devoted mother to Pamela Rerick (Timothy) of Granger, Indiana and Gregory Brody (Bonnie) of Highland Park, Illinois. Karen was the cherished grandmother of Tyler, Lily, Cole, Chase and Brandon. She is also survived by her three brothers Russell (Kim) of Houston, Texas, Philip (Shannon) of Dallas, Texas and Kenneth (Heidi) of Highland Park, Illinois. Karen will be lovingly remembered as “Kaki” by her nieces and nephews, Jason, Heather, Kirbie, Janzen, Morgan, and Stratford. She also leaves behind a close knit group of best friends and relatives, including Fred (Nancy), whom she loved like a brother.

Karen spent her vacations and summers traveling to see her children and grandchildren as well as her brothers and their families. Karen was an ardent Red Sox fan. She felt fortunate to witness three World Series championships. Karen was full of life and will be remembered for her generous nature, hysterical stories and infectious laughter.

Funeral services will be graveside at Sharon Memorial Park in Sharon, Massachusetts on July 2, 2014 at 11:45 a.m. Friends and family may visit through Wednesday evening.

Donations can be made in her memory to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
