Leonard I. Antick, of Boston, MA, passed away on Tuesday, the 19th of August at the age of 85. He was born on November 20th, 1939, and grew up in the suburbs of Boston and the Kehilleth Israel community, relocating his family to California in 1976, and spending the last 25 years of his life in San Diego County.
As a young adult, he studied engineering at Northeastern and later sought his doctorate. He spent four decades as an engineer in manufacturing and was proud to say that he worked on both the first space shuttle and what later became compact discs. He was an avid reader, commonly recommending non-fiction history books and articles on political analysis. He was deeply proud of his American Jewish ancestry and reconnected with his Jewish roots in his later years with Chabad of San Diego.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ruth Antick, and his younger sister, Jo-Ann (Antick) Carter. He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Antick and Jennifer (Rivi) Antick, son-in-law, Eric Oslund, grandson, Micah Antick-Oslund, niece Lori Carter Frascolla, and his cousins Karen Wayne and Linda Frederick.
The family would like to thank Leonard’s Rabbi and friend, Yisroel Dinerman, dear friend Mark Speck, and his nurse Peter, for the generosity, gentle kindness, companionship, and care they showed our father.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at 9:45 a.m.
Visitation and shiva will begin in Boston and continue in Portland, Oregon, where his daughters reside.
