Gordon Ehrlich, known as “Bud”, died on March 30, 2025 a resident of Ogunquit, ME.

He was survived by his wife Eleanor (Ellie) Ehrlich to whom he was happily married for 68 years, and by four loving children, Kenneth and his wife Anne Ehrlich of Rockport, MA, Virginia Thoerner of Bridgehampton, NY, Sarah Aronin and her husband Eric Aronin, of Larchmont, NY, and Alexandra (Ali) Ehrlich and her partner Joanne Minsky of Ipswich, MA. Gordon was also survived by seven loving grandchildren, the children of Kenneth and Anne, Eliza, Sam, Catherine, and Gordon, the daughter of Virginia Thoerner, Sophie, and the children of Sarah and Eric Aronin, Caroline and Isabel.

Gordon was born in September 1930 in Springfield, MA. Son of Robert and Ida Ehrlich. He attended Phillips Academy of Andover, MA, class of 1947, Yale University, class of 1951, and Harvard Law School, class of 1954. He graduated with honors from all said schools. After a tour in the army, he served as a Research Assistant to the late Professor Stanley Surrey of the Harvard Law School on a tax project of the American Law Institute. He joined the venerable Boston law firm of Bingham, Dana and Gould in 1957 where he practiced as a tax attorney for 59 years before he became affiliated with the national firm of Morgan Lewis until he retired in 2016.

Gordon was a member of the Harvard Club and Brae Burn Country Club while residing in Chestnut Hill, MA. Later, after moving full time to Ogunquit ME, he joined The Cape Neddick Country Club continuing his lifelong passion for golf.

He was devoted to his family, friends, and former clients with whom he had close relationships. He was revered for his down to earth nature and spot-on sense of humor.

Burial services are private.
