Benson, Mae, age 93, of Cambridge. Formerly of Boca Raton, Nanuet, Queens, and Brooklyn. Wife, mother, teacher, and friend. Beloved wife of the late Irving Benson. Loving mother of Eugene and his partner Marlene of Arlington, Jerome and his wife Cheryl of Lunenburg, and Jeffrey and his wife Anne of Brookline. Also survived by grandchildren Eric, Jonathan, Lily, and Elijah, and great grandson Isaac. She began college in her 30s, when her three sons were under ten years old. She received her bachelors and masters degrees, and taught elementary school in Queens and then in New City, New York. Burial will be in New Montefiore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
