Marc H. Lampert, age 68, of Stow, MA, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer on August 16th, 2024, surrounded by his family.
A lifelong Bostonian, Marc was raised in Newton, MA, by his beloved parents, Ethel and Hyman Lampert, of blessed memory. He earned degrees from Boston University and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy before founding a pharmaceutical distribution company, which he managed with dedication and integrity for over 30 years, making a lasting impact on those who worked with him.
Above all else, Marc was a devoted family man. He was an incredible father to his three sons, Dana, Seth, and Joshua, and a proud and loving "Grampy" to his grandchildren, Max, Shayna, and Levi. Marc cherished his daughters-in-law, Heather and Kelly, who he welcomed into the family as the daughters he always wanted. His family was his world, and he took immense pride in supporting them in every way possible. Marc shared 41 years of marriage with Jayne, and together they devoted their lives to raising their children with love and care.
Marc was a loving brother to his sisters, Faith and Lisa, his brother, Ronald, and brothers-in-law Richard and Ken, sharing a close bond with them. In 2011, his sister Lisa gave him the precious gift of time by being the donor in his life-saving stem cell transplant, a selfless act that extended Marc’s life and deepened their connection.
In addition to his professional and family life, Marc had a passion for making his home a place of beauty and tranquility. He loved decorating his home and took great joy in gardening, cultivating a space that reflected his creativity and care. Marc was also a lifelong “scream-at-the-TV” Celtics fan, whose unwavering loyalty to the team was rewarded when he was able to witness one more banner being raised at the Garden—a moment that brought him great joy in his final months.
Marc's legacy of love, generosity, and passion will continue to live on through his family and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service will be held on August 18th at 12 p.m. at Levine Chapels in Brookline, with burial to follow at Beit Olam East Cemetery in Wayland.
Shiva will be observed at Seth Lampert's home, 117 Walcott Street, Stow, MA, on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., and at Dana Lampert's home, 29B Oak Street, Wellesley, MA, on Monday from 5-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marc's memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
May his memory be for a blessing.
