Marilyn L. Roseland

Marilyn L. Roseland, 96, of West Hartford, CT, formerly of Newton MA, passed away on January 5, 2026.

She was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Julia (Tushman) Chaletsky, first husband Gerald Kaufman, son Elliot Kaufman, brother Lawrence Chaletsky, and ex-husband Joel Roseland.

She was survived by her daughters Linda Solomon and Cheryl Bennett, grandchildren Jennifer Solomon and wife Stef Knaur, Isaac Solomon and wife Kathleen, Jessica Dimitrov and husband Dimitre, Brittany Hall and husband Matthew, Sarah McLaughlin and husband Connor and great grandchildren Eliza Solomon, Maya Dimitrov, Caleb Dimitrov and Amelia McLaughlin.

Marilyn grew up in the West End of Boston where she formed lifelong friendships and immersed herself in all the cultural and recreational opportunities available. She especially loved music, dancing, swimming, shopping, and attending movies, concerts, and theater.

She loved raising her family and believed that it was the most important job she could ever have. She valued growing up with a wonderful extended family. She was also passionate about education. She was an avid reader and loved learning. She was extremely proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren both academic and extracurricular.

A service will be held for Marilyn on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Levine Chapels in Brookline, MA. Interment will follow at Lindwood Memorial Park in Randolph, MA. For additional details about the service or shiva please call Levine Chapels at 617-277-8300.
