

Marilyn K. Silverman of Brookline, MA, beloved mother, aunt and grandmother passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at the age of 90.
Born Marilyn Kopeloff, she grew up in Brooklyn, NY where she overcame many hardships as a young girl. Marilyn put herself through college and graduate school to become a licensed clinical social worker. She opened a private practice in the Boston area where she served individuals and her community for over 35 years.
Marilyn married Jerry Silverman at the age of 35, and they were happily married for 49 years until Jerry's passing in 2017.
She was a member of Shir Hadash reconstructionist congregation for many years, where she served on the membership committee. A champion of social and community causes, she was known as a forward thinking, engaged contributor in bettering the world around her.
Marilyn is remembered fondly by her descendants: children Elana Gluch and Peter (JoJo) Silverman, and her grandchildren Kil’av Elkanah Gluch, Neyriyah Chanoch Gluch, Akavya, Aveenadav Shalom and Shoshana Yiska.
