

Marion Sonja Wollmeringer passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, at the age of 89 in Harwich, Massachusetts. Known for her contributions in education and nutrition, she was born in Berlin, Germany in 1936 to Roza and William Deinemann. She escaped Germany with her parents and brother Peter in 1938 to begin a new life in New York City. Attending Hunter College in New York and completing her Master’s degree at Framingham University in Massachusetts, she dedicated much of her life to raising her children and advancing in her field as a dietitian. While employed at U.S. Army Natick Soldier Systems Center, she authored works such as “New armed forces recipe service recipes: Leaner and meaner,” published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association in 1993.
Marion was recognized for her dedication to hands-on teaching and innovation, reflecting a career marked by service and leadership. She was actively involved in her synagogue, Temple Beth Am in Framingham, educational communities, mentoring students, and supporting initiatives that fostered growth and learning. Her legacy includes inspiring many through her work and dedication to serving and volunteering with organizations.
She is fondly remembered by family, colleagues, caregivers, and everyone who benefited from her expertise, guidance, and wit. Marion’s life was a testament to the power of education and the impact one individual can have on their community. She was always there when we needed her most, offering support, wisdom, and unconditional love.
She is survived by her two sons, Peter and Robert Wollmeringer, his wife, Elizabeth, and three grandchildren: Britney Dawn Wollmeringer, Joseph Charles Wollmeringer, and Clara Estelle Wollmeringer, and is now reunited with her beloved Bernie.
