Melvin Aaron Chait

Melvin Aaron Chait born 1/1/1936 passed away peacefully on 10/10/2025 with his children by his side. Melvin was reunited with the love of his life Elinore “Ellie” Chait, just 7 days after her passing, and they will rest together eternally.

Mel built a lifetime of devotion to his beloved Ellie for over 65 years of marriage. His best times were spent with family in their homes in Framingham, Falmouth and Palm Beach Gardens. He will be remembered for his generosity and his deep love for his family.

Melvin was predeceased by his parents Barney and Ida Chait. He was adored by Ellie’s late parents Mary and Samuel Goldman, whom he loved dearly. He will be missed greatly by his devoted children Barbara and Philip, their spouses Alan and Tracy, his beloved grandchildren Mitchell, Leanna and Juliette, as well as his sister-in-law Elaine Greenburg. Mel was a beloved uncle to Michael, Gail and Donna, whom he loved very much and who loved him equally in return. Mel had many great friends and neighbors throughout his life who will miss him dearly.

A combined funeral service for Melvin and Elinore Chait will be held on Tuesday October 21, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 1668 Beacon St. Brookline. Shiva will be held on Wednesday 10/22/2025 at Brookdale Cushing Park, 200 W Farm Pond Road, Framingham 12-3 PM.
