

She had lived at NewBridge on the Charles in Dedham, MA since 2009 under their excellent long term care program. She was a long time resident of Glens Falls, NY who, with her husband, Abe Corton, owned and ran Corton’s Creative Insta Printing for twenty-eight years, first in Quaker Village and later in downtown Glens Falls. Always a champion for social justice and the rights of those who were less fortunate, she served as President of the local Hadassah chapter and the local Sisterhood chapter of Glens Falls, NY.
Born in Cernauti, Romania (now part of southern Ukraine), she survived WWII on the run with her family, first living in Bucharest, Romania and later moving to Vienna, Austria. In 1951, she and her family finally received visas to immigrate to the US and they came through Ellis Island with pride and hope. Mia and Abe met in New York City in 1962 and in 1963 they married and moved to Glens Falls to raise their soon to be family.
Mia was a dedicated supporter of the Lake George Opera Festival, a gourmet cook, an avid reader and lover of life.
She is survived by her daughter, Monica Corton of New York City, NY, son Mitch Corton of Framingham, MA, daughter-in-law Ali Corton and her grandchildren, Will and Mollie Corton.
The funeral will be held at graveside at Temple Beth El’s cemetery located on Gansevoort Road, Town of Moreau between Bluebird and Reservoir Road on Sunday, September 27 at 2:30pm.
