Miriam Conviser (Isaacson) of Brookline. Passed away from natural causes after a long life well lived. Predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, George H. Conviser. Daughter of the late Charles and Sophie Isaacson. Dear sister to her late siblings; Irving Isaacson, Jeanette Zeltzer, Fred Isaacson, Eli Isaacson and Mickey Isaacson. Mother to Laurie Gold and her husband Neal, Jim Conviser and his wife Holly, and Deana Blackman. Grandma to Cameron, Olivia, Benjamin and Harrison.
After growing up in Berlin NH, she moved to Boston to attend Burdett Business College. While living in Brookline, she met her husband George, a successful electrical contractor. Together they raised their three children in Newton. When her children were in middle school she began a career in retail at Herman’s World of Sporting Goods in Chestnut Hill, then went on to The Rugged Bear, where she clothed scores of children of all ages. It is likely that everyone she met got her employee discount. Living in Brookline later in life, she enjoyed meeting neighbors especially those with young families. She held court in the laundry room or in the hallways catching up on vacations plans, children’s activities and offering advice to young moms. An astute grocery shopper, she was known to chat with people behind the fish or meat counter to ensure the very freshest product. She was a devoted mother and wife and took pride in her home and making meals for her family. She enjoyed caring for the family dogs, the cooler weather and visiting Cape Cod or Rockport for lobster in the rough.
Services will be private at Sharon Memorial Park. Visitation will take place on Friday, June 13, from 3:00 to 6:00pm at the home of Laurie and Neal Gold.
