Norma Elinor Wolozin

Let us pause and reflect on the long and well-lived life of Norma Wolozin of S. Natick and Gloucester, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5th, 2025, twenty days short of her 93rd birthday.

Norma was the loving wife of Larry Wolozin, married just shy of 70 years. Daughter of the late Jean (Traub) and William Finberg; sister of the late Gerald Finberg; proud mother of Dana Lyn Cohen & mother-in-law to Lewis Cohen. Norma enjoyed a very special relationship with her grandson Joshua Cohen.

Norma was born in Methuen, MA, on July 25, 1932, and raised in Lawrence, MA. She attended Lawrence Schools and graduated with great distinction, earning a bachelor's degree in psychology from Boston University. She enjoyed a most-gratifying early career as a social worker. When once asked by a young girl what she did as a social worker she replied, "I help people." In later years she assisted in the family business at The Mill Falls restaurant in Newton, MA.

Norma was an avid and creative gardener, keeping a year-round greenhouse and loved interior design. She was a very active reader of fiction and always up on current events. Although a very private person, she was a true friend who enjoyed close personal relationships with a small group of friends for 60 to 70 years.

She enjoyed the ocean and beaches of Gloucester and also felt that "Bermuda is the Place for Us." Her favorite song was "The Nearness of You" which defined her to those that knew her best. I would be remiss if I did not mention her loyal, life companion, "Barney the Beagle", who was always attached at her hip.

Graveside services at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA, on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 11:45 AM.

A Celebration of Life will follow the service at Seasons 52 Restaurant, 220 Boylston Street, Building C117, Chestnut Hill, MA. at 1:00 PM.
