Paul H. Gorden of Framingham, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, just three days after celebrating his 97th birthday.
Paul lived a long life defined by devotion to family, commitment to community, and a wonderful sense of humor. He spent the first half of his career as a partner in the family business, N. Gorden & Sons. He later dedicated the remainder of his professional life to public service as the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Association of School Committees. Education and civic engagement were deeply important to Paul, and he served actively on the Ware School Committee, the Area Five Committee, and several other education-related committees.
Those who knew Paul will remember his sharp wit, quick mind, and signature dry humor. He had a way of delivering perfectly timed jokes and thoughtful observations that brought laughter and perspective to everyday moments. He enjoyed engaging with people and had a genuine curiosity about those around him.
Above all, Paul was devoted to his family. He shared a remarkable 70-year marriage with his beloved wife, Norma, until her passing in 2022. Their life together was filled with love, partnership, and deep family roots.
Paul is survived by his son Mark and his wife Susan; his daughter Amy and her husband Larry; four grandchildren and their spouses; and six great-grandchildren who brought him tremendous pride and joy.
Paul’s life was a life well lived—full of love, laughter, and deep devotion to his family and community. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, integrity, and humor that will live on through the generations of family who loved him so dearly. May his memory always be a blessing.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Paul’s memory may be made to Temple Beth Sholom, Framingham, MA at www.beth-sholom.org (http://www.beth-sholom.org/).
