He leaves behind his two children; Andrew Abromson, 32, of Braintree and Amanda Abromson, 28, of Dorchester, and their mother Janine Keating, of Braintree. He is also survived by his brother, David Abromson and his wife Linda of Foxborough, his sister Laurie of Oak Island, NC, and sister Ellen Jane of Jacksonville, FL.
Robby also leaves behind nieces Jaclyn Huberman and husband Jake Brandman of New York City, NY, Jamie (Huberman) Oakley and husband Justin, of Narragansett, RI, Nikki and Kristin Abromson, both of Foxborough, and five great-nieces and nephews. A week prior to his death, Robby was overjoyed to learn he was going to be a first-time grandfather to a baby girl due in June.
Robby grew up in Newton, MA. He was a 1979 graduate of The Rivers School in Weston, MA and graduated from the University of Tampa where he played baseball. He was a multi-sport athlete in high school and was a standout left-handed pitcher at Tampa. Robby was an avid athlete and huge sports fan and passed his love for baseball down to his children.
We will always miss his caring heart, sense of humor, and love for his family. Robby struggled with
addiction throughout his life, and we hope that his death can inspire people who face the same demons to heal in a way that Robby couldn’t. To that end and in lieu of flowers, tribute donations can be made in memory of Robby to Father Bill’s & MainSpring at https://helpfbms.org/donate/.
Graveside service at Abramson Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury on Wednesday, December 22 at 11:00 am.
