Ronna Jo Klein, passed away on February 9, 2026, in Chestnut Hill, three days before her 90th birthday, after a long illness with Parkinson’s disease and Lewy Body Dementia. She moved through life with quiet strength, sharp intellect, and a warmth that drew people close.
Born in Stoneham in 1936, Ronna was the daughter Edith and of David Brickman. Ronna attended Simmons College and married her husband, Thomas, in Malden in 1960. The couple lived in St. Louis while Thomas trained at Barnes Hospital before settling in Newton, where Ronna made a home for fifty-nine years. After marrying, Ronna graduated from Continuum Learning Center where she was involved with the organization of First Night. She later partnered with her sister-in-law in a home staging business, bringing her eye for beauty and balance to work.
Family was her center. She supported her loved ones with unwavering devotion, celebrating their passions as if they were her own. A lifelong musician, she played cello and piano and sang with the Newton Choral Society. She cherished her dachshunds, tended her flower garden with care, and was a longtime member of Congregation Mishkan Tefila and Temple Emanuel.
Ronna is survived by her husband, Thomas; her sons, Jason and Danny; and her grandchildren, Allegra and Aidan. She also leaves her twin sister Toby, and her brother, Jonathan; her nieces and nephews—Rosalind, Megan, Adam, Joshua, Raphael, Shana, and Dara—and extended family. She is additionally survived by her brother- in-law and sister-in-law, Stuart and Francie, and their children, Sherri and Justin.
