Rosalyn "Bubbles" Spunt. She’s perhaps the only person you’ll ever meet named Bubbles. A nickname given to Rosalyn Singer when she was just a little girl! Rosalyn Singer was born April 21, 1926 in Boston, Massachusetts. Her parents were Russian immigrants who came to Boston on a boat at the turn of the 20th Century. She was living in Boston when she met the love of her life, Robert Phillip Spunt, affectionately known as “Bob.” The two communicated through hundreds of postcards while Bob was on the high seas of the Pacific during World War II. Sometimes the two didn’t hear from each other for weeks, but that didn't matter. They married September 17, 1946. They defined true love. Bubbles is preceded in death by her father Milton Singer (1887-1971), mother Jeanette Singer (1896-1993), a sister Bernice, and two brothers: Leonard and Marvin. She is survived by her two sons: Laurence (Jean) Spunt of Columbus Ohio and Barry Spunt of New York, NY. Her three grandchildren: David Spunt of Charlotte NC, Jessica Spunt of Boston, MA, and Sarah Beth Spunt of New York, NY love her very much. She is survived by several nieces and and a nephew. Bubbles shared the same birthday: April 21, 1926 (including year) with Queen Elizabeth. Though she was not known on a world stage like the Queen, she was our Queen and we will all miss her very much. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association
