

Ruth (Elberger) Fleischer of Watertown passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2013. For 15 years, she was the devoted wife of David L. Fleischer. Loving mother of Evan. Beloved daughter of Shalom and Liba Elberger. Dear sister of Anna Elberger. Fond daughter-in-law of Lionel Fleischer and Phyllis & Richard Carr. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Ruth had a passion for helping others. She started Watertown Together, an organization where neighbors help neighbors with services, so elderly community members can stay in their homes. She served as President and assisted to secure their first grant. Ruth also worked at Boston College where she was Information and Program Specialist for The Nat’l Resource Center for Participant-Directed Services, an organization that assists organizations offering services to people with disabilities. Ruth previously served as the Director of Knowledge Management at The Forum Corporation, a training and consulting firm, directing all knowledge management efforts within the global corporation. Ruth started her career as the school psychologist with Brookline Public Schools. Services at Temple Isaiah, 55 Lincoln Street, Lexington on Wednesday November 20 at 10:30 AM. Interment at Beit Olam East Cemetery, 42 Concord Road, Wayland. Memorial observance will be at the family home Wednesday, November 20 and Thursday, November 21 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Breast Cancer Research, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445.
