Stanton Davis

DAVIS, Stanton H of Needham. Entered into rest December 17, 2017. Beloved husband of Phyllis (Brown) Davis. Devoted father of Jonathan & Greta Davis, Rick & Eileen Davis and Eve & Joel Dennis. Loving brother of Ina Glasberg, the late Melvin Davis and the late A. Peter Davis; dear brother-in-law of Ron Glasberg, Glenys Davis and Heide Davis. Cherished grandfather of Ben, Jackie and Brian Davis, Amy Davis, Justin & Kate Dennis, Tyler & Tatjana Dennis and Spencer Dennis. Born in Cambridge and raised in Brookline, Stan served during WWII in Army-Air Force. He graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Business and for the next sixty years Stan worked in the movie business as a film distributor and booker and buyer of motion pictures. In addition, with his brother Mel, he owned and operated multiple movie theaters including the original Needham Cinema after they renovated the old Paramount Theater in the 1960’s. Stan enjoyed coaching his boys in Needham Little League and also served as a Town Meeting Member for more than twenty years. Funeral services will be at Temple Aliyah, 1664 Central Ave, Needham 02492 on Tuesday, December 19th at 12:00 noon, with interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham St., Sharon, MA. Memorial observance immediately following interment at the home of Jon & Greta Davis until 9 pm, continuing Wednesday and Thursday at the home of Rick & Eileen Davis, from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm.
