William C. "Bill" Kobin of Watertown left this life on July 6, 2022. Born in 1924, Bill was 97 years old. Although everyone who knew him thought of him as a person many, many years younger—his life brimmed with that much vitality and energy. Bill, who for much of his working life made a living as a real estate appraiser, was a fine guitarist who loved and played country-western with many different pickers.
He was a raconteur who loved to tell and listen to stories –and his store of them never ran dry. Bill had a bevy of friends and family who loved him and who will miss him every day. We share sadness at our loss of him and lift a glass of wine with joy to celebrate a life well lived.
His wife, Ilse Kobin, predeceased him in 1997, his companion, Frances Frank, in 2013 and his twin sister, Carole Newman, in 2012. He leaves behind his nephews Bill Newman (Dale), Jeff Newman (Regina), and niece Cynthia Newman (Andy), a next generation of nieces and nephews who will miss his funny stories and kind smile, and dear friend Chuck Keenan.
There will be a graveside service at Mount Auburn Cemetery on Monday July 11 at 1:00pm for friends and family to celebrate his life.
