Ann was born to loving parents whose Italian roots began in Paulsboro, New Jersey. Her husband, Andrew, was from Mulberry Street, in lower Manhattan, NY. She would always put the emphasis on finding someone who could be the father of her children first and foremost and was so grateful for that.
After marriage, she and her husband began their life together in a Brooklyn apartment before purchasing a home near the water, not far from Coney Island—a place that would hold many years of family memories.
Ann continued her dedicated career in government service after moving to Brooklyn. She was transferred from the Naval Offices to the Brooklyn Army Terminal, where she built lifelong friendships and treasured stories that she would later share with her family.
Five years into her marriage, Ann became a devoted mother to three daughters. Soon after, the family grew even more with beloved pets who became part of their home and hearts.
Ann was deeply involved in her daughters’ lives and education. She was an active presence in their schools, serving as PTA President several times, as well as a Brownie Leader and Girl Scout Leader. She instilled strong values in her children—teaching them to be respectful of others despite differences and challenges. During difficult times, she would gently remind them, “Give it to God.”
Education and personal growth were always priorities for Ann.
She believed strongly in college education, music lessons, and educational yet fun, family vacations as ways for her family to flourish. While raising her family, she learned how to drive and earned an Associate’s degree in Business Management, all while lovingly attending to her family’s needs.
Ann cherished family gatherings and traditions, especially birthday dinners celebrated at restaurants. She loved music in all its forms—dancing, singing, opera, and classical music. The family’s grand piano held a special place in her heart, particularly during the holiday season when her playing filled the home with warmth and joy. She cherished the times that she was able to cook many family meals from recipes and scratch and was an avid baker of different pies and desserts during the holidays.
Professionally, Ann worked for many years in executive administrative office positions throughout New York City. Her favorite role was at Food & Wine Magazine. Later, she continued her passion for service by working for the Department of Aging as an Activities Coordinator at a nearby senior center.
Above all, Ann adored her grandchildren. She thanked God constantly for their health and for each year she was blessed to watch them grow, celebrate birthdays, and reach milestones. She loved her sons-in-law as if they were her own sons and was deeply grateful to have them as part of her family.
In a poignant full-circle moment, Ann spent her final two weeks in a hospital room with a window facing the Brooklyn Army Terminal—the very place where she was transferred when she began her married life in Brooklyn. It was there she once built lasting friendships and cherished memories, and it was there that she took her final breath and began her new eternal life with God.
Though we were not ready to say goodbye—especially after she bravely survived two battles with COVID, a serious fall, and hip surgery—we did what she always taught us to do in difficult times: We Gave it to God. Throughout her entire life her Faith never, ever waivered and always trusted and believed in the promise of God’s eternity. God was ready for her, and we find comfort in knowing she will always be there to guide us still forever in our lives.
Forever in our hearts, Mama. We are eternally grateful for your beautiful presence in our lives, which will live within us always.
We Love You Forever, and until we will meet again.
—Your Loving Family
