Charles David Staten

Born to Arlene and Irvin Staten, Charles grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. He is survived by his siblings, Chris, Michael, Clarice, Theresa, and Myron. He was predeceased by his brother Bruce.

Charles was the proud father of Akaiilah Staten, whom he cherished deeply. A retired firefighter, he dedicated much of his life to serving and protecting others, both through his career and in his everyday life.

Known for his dependable, kind, and modest spirit, Charles had a gentle sweetness that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He loved spending time with family, helping others whenever he could, and had a gift for making people feel at ease. One of his favorite sayings, “coolin and chillin,” reflected his laid-back nature and joyful approach to life.

Charles will be remembered as a wonderful father, a devoted son and brother, and a man whose kindness touched many lives.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A memorial service visitation in chapel will be held at Cusimano & Russo Funeral Home, located at 2005 West 6th St, Brooklyn, NY, 11223, on September 27, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
