Eric Mendez

Eric Mendez, a resident of Box Springs, GA, passed away on October 14, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on June 9, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York, Eric's wishes were to be brought back to his beloved Brooklyn for his final resting place.

Eric retired from the NYPD in August of 2003 after a long and distinguished career, with his last assignment in Central Booking in Brooklyn, NY. Throughout his service, he was respected for his dedication and courage.

Eric was the dear husband of Janet, a loving father to Eric Emmanuel, and brother to Angel, Wanda, David and Aida, as well as uncle to many nephews and nieces.

Known as a gentle giant, his affectionate nature and bravery left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.

Family and friends are invited to honor Eric's memory during the visitation on October 22, 2025, at Cusimano & Russo Funeral Home, located at 2005 W 6th St, Brooklyn, New York, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The Funeral Mass will be held on October 23, 2025, at St Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, 185 Van Sicklen St, Brooklyn, New York, beginning at 9:45 am and concluding at 10:30 am.

Following the mass, interment will take place at Cemetery of the Evergreens, 1629 Bushwick Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Eric Mendez will be deeply missed, and his legacy as a loving husband, father, and friend will always be cherished.
