

Gloria M. Pellot, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 15, 2026, while being held by her daughter, Rosa, at the age of 97. Gloria was born on November 2, 1928, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and spent her life surrounded by family, love, and the values that mattered most to her—faith, strength, and devotion to those she cared for, namely her family.
Gloria was known for her patience, kindness, resilience, humbleness, and overwhelming generosity, and for the way she made others feel welcomed and cared for. She leaves behind a legacy of love, family traditions, and countless memories that will continue to be cherished for generations.
Throughout her life, Gloria enjoyed cooking, telling stories of growing up in Puerto Rico with her siblings, family, and friends, family gatherings, and how everyone should be respectful because that’s what her parents expected. Gloria was especially proud of her family and the life she built with them. Whether through her words of encouragement, her presence during important moments, or the love she gave so freely, Gloria touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, [Luis Pellot Soto and Antonia Vila Pellot], and her son, Eusebio (Harry) Colon, her brother, Angelo (Bibi) Lopez, sister, Isabel Lopez Figueroa, and brother, Luis Angel Pellot.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosa A. Sepúlveda; her granddaughter, Lizette Morales-Chomicki (Michael G. Chomicki, Jr.); her grandson, Harry Colon, Jr.; her granddaughter, Rebecca Colon; her great-grandchildren, Jacquelyn Rose Chomicki and Nathan Michael Chomicki (Megan); her great-great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Knox, Amelia, and Avery; her siblings, Ramonita “Monin” DaSilva Pellot, Ada R. Garcia Pellot, Theresa M. Karufils Pellot, Elena M. Suarez Pellot, Maria E. Pellot, and Geovanni Pellot; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Gloria’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered always for the love she gave, the strength she carried, and the family she held close.
Family and friends are invited to attend services to honor Gloria’s life on Thursday, January 22nd at 5:00 pm-9:00 pm at the Chapel of Joseph G. Duffy Funeral Home at 255 9th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11215.
Burial will be on Friday, January 23rd at 11:00 am at Cypress Hills Cemetery at 833 Jamaica Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11208. This will be in Section 6, William Miles Way, Grave site 28.
