I have so many memories. I can’t pick just one. When we lived in Florida he laughed his ass off at me after he jokingly suggested our group of friends go to Rachel’s one evening (a gentleman’s club in West Palm Beach) and I asked “Who’s Rachel??”. We used to fight over who would pay the check for dinner and had our own “cannoli currency”. One dinner = 2 to 3 GOOD cannolis owed to the other. We rode that horrible coaster on Coney Island that he loved together, and I had to sit on the ground because I felt sick afterwards. Then we got hot dogs and while I was in line he looks at me and says, “Don’t scream”. Confused, I looked around and there was a homeless man standing RIGHT behind me asking for money and food. I screamed. He laughed. Maggie is the only dog my cats have met. They thought she was an alien. She never left his side. One year I saved all my European chocolate from Christmas to give to him in February and he would give Maggie small baby bites.  We used to tag-team cyber bully people on Facebook about politics and laugh/cry about the ignorance.  We smoked in the back yard of his brownstone and talked about the state of the world and what it was coming to. I promise to live every day of my life in his honor and be the best possible honorable New Yorker I can be. I can’t listen to KISS without crying now. I hated that band and he knew it. But I’ll get a KISS army tattoo for you, my friend. I love you so much. I promise to be there for the kids and your family for as long as I live. I will miss you every day. One day I’ll stop crying about this. But my heart will never be totally full again, now that you’re gone. 

Dear Virginia, Charlotte, Lillian and Eamon,
Your dad and I met at and worked together in the kitchen at Recovery Resources.  I was older, a Yankees fan and from The Bronx. Two people could not have been more diverse and yet we clicked instantly and shared so many laughs and tears from that November 2013 up until few weeks ago. He was, to me, intelligent, compassionate, hilarious, talented, and the most caring father a child could have. He always spoke about how very proud he was of each one of you. I’m glad to have physically met Lillian and Eamon and feel as though I’ve met Virginia & Charlotte thru Joan’s eyes. He also loved his doggie Maggie. We also shared our love of the Pugs we owned. I will miss annoying my buddy.  We are all blessed for having known such an extraordinary person. My heart is with all of you in your grief and love

Not sure if my pics posted...I am so grateful to have made lots of great memories with John. He was a true, good friend. His love and generosity knew no bounds. He was smart, funny, and a great cook. He loved to share what he had with those he loved. I learned a lot from him. I already miss him. I'm grateful he is no longer in pain and can rest now. He is always in my heart and on my mind. My love to his beautiful kids, Virginia, Charlotte, Lilly, and Eamon. May they live to be the legacy he wanted to leave here on earth. They are definitely off to a great start.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to all the Moogan family on the recent passing of John. We had the privilege of meeting John last year, while we were visiting in Newyork.
He kindly took us out for a meal and we so enjoyed his company.
We are sorry we cannot be with you all at this sad time but be assured you are in our thoughts and prayers.
