Joseph Kohler, age 68, of Brooklyn, New York passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025 in his hometown of Brooklyn, NY. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. despite the pain,Joe stayed strong. Loving son of Mae "Fisch" Kohler and brother of John Kohler, Marylu Kohler, James Kohler, and Billy Kohler. Joe loved his many nieces and nephews of Cody, Jessica, Krystal,Johnny, Hailey, Emma, JP, and Anna.His godson Frankie held a very special place in his heart as well as his very close friends Camille, Bobby, Richie, Huey, Alice, and many more. Joe met the love of his life Debbie in 1988 and became the stepFather of both Melissa Dalton Hickey and Stacy Dalton. The role of stepfather very shortly changed to father for Stacy, Joe was very proud of his grandchildren Josie and Devin and especially Kevin. Kevin made Joe a " Papa" and was Joe's "buddy". They had a very special bond that cannot be broken.
Joe overcame many obstacles in his life and if someone was going to make it through- it would be him. He was very strong willed and could do anything he set his mind to.Joe will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A visitation for Joseph will be held Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cusimano & Russo Funeral Home, 2005 West 6th St, Brooklyn, NY 11223.
