HIGGINS, Nerina (Nettie). September 3, 1917 - May 22, 2012. Long time resident of Brooklyn, NY. Beloved daughter of the late Salvatore and Immacolata Siclari. Dear sister of Nat and Mae Siclari, Judith and Nick Nicolosi and the late Sylvia Siclari. Beloved wife of the late Garrett Higgins of North Carolina. Loving mother of Bill, John, Patty, Mike, Maryann, Ginger and the late Pauline. Mother in law, past and present to Emily, Beth, Lois, Jim, Judy, Kathy, Tommy, Ned, George, Dennis and Ronnie. Cherished grandmother of 17 and their families and great-grandmother of 24. Our Mom lived her life in a quiet way, handling all situations, no matter how pleasant or traumatic, the best she could in her own simple way. It made her strong and gave her the desire to go on, even when her body felt like giving up. Some of her last words were of forgiving and understanding of each other. Her love for all her children was the center of her existence. May she rest in peace until we all meet again.
