Robin Carrelli (born Robin Brogna) passed away on March 24, 2026 at the age of 71 in Brooklyn, NY. Born and raised in Staten Island she overcame early childhood illness and was doted on endlessly by her parents and three siblings. She spent summers at the beach bungalow her father built in Silver Beach at the Jersey Shore. When she was 24 she met a man who insisted she dance with him. Shortly after they married and she moved with him to Brooklyn and they lived in a small apartment over his mother’s house. On their honeymoon in Aruba, they had so much fun that their only daughter was born before their one year anniversary. They moved to their home in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn where she lived out the rest of her years. Robin was incredibly artistic and after a short career designing children’s wear, she left her job to take care of her daughter full time. Her talent did not go to waste and she still handmade many of her daughter’s dresses, coats and Halloween costumes. Robin also did set design for her daughter’s school plays, and was an active member of the PTA. So active that they eventually offered her a job at the school and sponsored her continued education. She spent many years working at P.S. 222 in Brooklyn as a paraprofessional, working one -on-one with special needs students. Robin loved her time there and cared so deeply about the well being of her students. She was fragile but fierce. Her nickname to all of her family was Robbybird or Baby Bird. We all loved taking care of her through her endless health scares and broken bones and treatments. She will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Carol and Louis Brogna. She is survived by her three devoted siblings: Donna Brogna, Luanne Brogna and Anthony Brogna. By her doting daughter Gabrielle Carrelli, and by her adoring husband Nicolas Carrelli.
