Born in Evanston, Illinois, Ronald Rae “Ron” Erickson met the love of his life, Sheree West, while both attended nearby Lake Forest College. Always fascinated by how technology worked, at Lake Forest Ron dove deep into the groundbreaking hologram discoveries of world-renowned professor Tung “TJ” Jeong, who became his mentor. Ron sought every opportunity after graduate school at Hunter College to implement hologram and other imaging technology in business and in the medical field. His attraction to engines and machinery and his technical know-how eventually led him to computers as the digital age dawned. Whatever the machine was, Ron knew how it worked and how to fix it. In retirement, Ron enjoyed volunteering at the Steamtown National Historic Site rail museum in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and at the National Museum of Industrial History in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Traveling with wife Sheree, visiting friends, and attending the New York Philharmonic rounded out a very busy life.
