

Bette June (Halpin) Bailey, age 82, of Inverness, FL, died on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at the Heron Point Health and rehab center, in Brooksville, FL. A longtime resident of Inverness coming from Jupiter, FL in 1986. Bette lived in Jupiter from 1967-1986 coming originally from the West Chester, PA area. Bette was born on November 18, 1932 in West Chester, PA to the late John & Thora (Davis) Halpin. Bette owned the Bette June Halpin School of Dance, ran Dance Shows on The Steel Pier in Atlantic City, and was even seen on the Ted Mach Show in New York City. Bette was the Co-owner of Sunshine State Promotions, Arts and Crafts / Events and festivals promotions company that arranged many of the events in Inverness, Citrus Cty, Hernando Cty and many surrounding areas of Central Florida. Through her direct efforts, she started the Inverness Annual Arts festival. Bette is survived by her sons; Paul A. bailey and his wife Cheryl of Pikeville, TN, and Robert W. Bailey of Oak Ridge, TN. as well as her two stepsons, Thomas Elgert and James Elgert both of PA. Bette was Methodist by faith and shared her membership at both the Inverness United Methodist Church and the Spring United Methodist Church. Family and friends will gather at the Turner Funeral Home, 504 E. Jefferson Street, Brooksville, FL. 34601, on Friday June 26, 2015, from 10 am-12 noon. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 12 noon, followed by the committal service and burial at the Oakridge Cemetery, Inverness, FL.
